久しぶり

long time no see! (^_^)

yesterday, i was able to meet up with the blue crew even if it was only for a hour.

the blue crew consists of my friends from med school: cel, maricia, mikey and me.

i had lunch with them,

shared hugs, smiles, laughs and stories.

we really miss each other.

i hope i can meet them again after their long exams. (^_^)

what was my agenda immediately after we arrived from naga?

i rushed to the sunken garden/ grandstand of the university of the philippines diliman for the shooting of a video to be presented on the orientation of the first year medicine students of uerm.

to tell you all the truth, i was surprised the my friend mikey and our former class president, who is now part of the council, messaged me about the video.

i was in naga when i received their message.

i turned it down initially because their shooting was supposed to be monday, the day before our arrival to manila, and that means i could not make it.

the next day, i received a message that said that the shooting was moved to tuesday.

i immediately said yes since by that time we were scheduled to be already in manila.

on the day of the shooting, i was late.

the train arrived behind schedule so i really had to rush to check what were the materials i needed and took a taxi to the venue.

from that point onwards, everything went smooth and on schedule. (^_^)

i really had fun doing the video.

gift

i got my birthday gift from celine last night. (^_^)

i know it's kind of late but i don't really mind a i love gifts.

add to that, she made the earrings herself. (^_^)

i love it!

i'll use it on our family vacation this weekend. (^_^)

post birthday party celebration

last may 1, i had a post birthday party celebration. (^_^)

this was actually the celebration i have been preparing for. (^_^)

my guests were my med school friends, maricia, cel and david.

the other guests were our neighbors from the condominium.

it actually looked like a kid's party because there were a lot of kids and my height is like a kid's (^_~)

anyways, we prepared all the food just in time before my guests arrived.

this includes the ingredients for the pizza we were planning to make.

everything seemed to go well and everyone seems to like the food. (^_^)

oh! i almost forgot, i made my own birthday cake. (^_~)

i wasn't sure if the cake would be a success since i had some problems along the way.

but according to me guests, they liked it, so i think that means the cake was a success. (^_^)

my med school friends and i had wine when the other guests left.

we just stayed at the house a little longer just talking and laughing.

when everyone already left, my sister and i were left to fix up everything.

we were just supposed to put all the dishes in the sink and we could wash it all the next day.

i guess i was just not comfortable leaving the dishes there,

so out if whim, i decided to wash ALL the dishes and out them all in their proper places.

i asked my sister to help me. (^_^)

when everything was cleaned, that's when we decided to go home to the condo unit. (^_^)

and that everyone was my may 1 post birthday celebration. (^_^)

to everyone who greeted me today, thank you very much. (^_^)

22 years!

i am thankful for all the blessings i have received, specially the year that has passed.

the year that has passed is quite challenging, to be more specific, the med school life.

i have discovered a lot of things about myself and this has helped me build my "self".

i am very thankful for the knowledge i have received,

my med school friends who gave me guidance and protection.

they comforted me in times of great distress,

and they have witnessed my tears and my smiles. (^_^)

i am very thankful for their patience with me specially when studying.

i will always be grateful to them.

i am also thankful that i am now a member of the singles for christ community.

they have been my support during my difficult moments.

the prayers and the company has helped me feel closer to God.

they have made me realize and strengthen my spiritual faith.

this community has also become my outlet in sharing my talents and finding a part of myself that has been suppressed for some time now.

through this community, i felt that have become stronger in a lot of ways. (^_^)

to all the people in the past and in the present who have touched my life,

who have inspired me, pushed me forward and pulled me up,

i thank you from the bottom of my heart.

to God Almighty, thank you for all the blessings you have given me and thank you for the guidance.

i continue life and live it to the fullest~

yume - dream

i few nights ago, i had a dream. rarely do i remember my dreams. but this one, i definitely remembered because of the people in the dream and the circumstances of the events in the dream.

i was in a classroom with eiji-senpai. the class was obviously about medicine. i failed in that subject and i felt so bad about it that i just quietly walked out of the room. i wandered in different corridors. the corridors were not familiar to me but they were not dark or anything. just a typical corridor or hallways of a school. i felt lonely and lost in thought while walking. i then entered a fire exit door. i saw a narrow stairway. it was neither dark nor light,  normal lighting. i don't remember seeing that staircase before but the feeling felt warm, comfortable and familiar. i saw 2-3 people coming up the stairs and passing by me. they seem to be in a procession of some sort and someone was carrying a statue of mother mary. i then saw my first year high school christian life teacher, Sir Rod Pino. i followed him ( he was also in the procession) and we followed the procession of the statue. we went up the stairs. we paused in one side of the stairway (like a mezzanine), we knelt and we prayed. after a while, we stood up and continued the procession up the stairs. only a short time passed, when i saw myself  kneeling again and praying (another mezzanine?). this time i heard the prayers of those with me but i could not distinguish what they were saying until i heard a familiar female voice behind me. she was praying for me, she was crying... for me. she hugged me from behind. i then felt that i was crying but i felt very comfortable wrapped under her warm arms. she was asking me to come back, be myself once more, forget my worries and be happy again. it was from my second year high school english teacher, Ms. Nutschell Anne Windsor.

other than being my english teacher, she was also one of the founders of the Campus Ministry Auxiliary, my main spiritual support when i was in high school. i had great respect for her in different aspects.

as i felt her embrace gently fading away, i felt more sure of myself. there was a change in the environment. i was was walking towards the classroom i mentioned at the start of the dream. i felt lighter and everything around me seemed more fresh and relaxing. i saw my professor in medicine walking towards me. she was saying something about my failure but i did not seem sad about it. i even smiled at her and said something good. she seems to be taken aback and she merely walked away.

that's all i could remember of my dream. it was like a moment of enlightenment for me. i realized how different i was years back. i've remembered how important the people in high school were for me. how they have changed my life, in a good and bad way, but most definitely in a good way. (^_^)

surgical mission: tuli operation

yesterday, we went on a surgical mission. (^_^)

we circumcised young boys.

in one group, there are four members.

for our group it was cel, maricia, david and me.

we were really nervous at the beginning,

but later on, we were already pretty confident with what we were doing.

we had a total of five patients.

it was really tiring.

i later had a bad headache because i was so tired.

despite the stress, i'm happy that

1) i learned how to circumcise

2) i learned with my friends

3) we gave support to each other

4) we were a witness to a boy's passage to manhood (^_~)

earrings + red cross training

maricia brought her beads last wednesday and we made earrings. (^_^)

the one on the bottom left (with feathers) was made by maricia for me (^_^)

on a different note,

our red cross training ended well last wednesday.

we had a reenactment of a possible mass casualty.

maricia was my partner and i really learned a lot from her.

she was more of the main aider and i was assisting her.

though it was merely a reenactment,

i was glad that maricia was my partner because she was very calm and she knew what to do.

if i was alone, i would not have known what to do. (>_<)

red cross training

yesterday was the start of our red cross training.

it's all about basic life support and first aid.

to tell you the truth, the training is tiring but not very strenuous.

it may be the combination of thinking the correct first aid and doing it as soon as possible.

the skills training itself required physical strength plus, as first aiders,

we must alleviate and lessen the pain with proper procedures.

here are my notes for the first day.

tomorrow will be the last day and there is a simulation of a mass casualty.

oh! before i forget, we are graded for our performance.

this means that if we fail, we will not to considered as trained first aiders.

i sure hope i can pass this.

i will do my best. m( _ _ )m

the last day of exams

yesterday was the last day of our finals exam!!! (^_^)V

after the exams, me and my friends had drinks.

only one bottle of vodka each and some snacks. (^_^)

after that, i went to my eiji-senpai for a visit.

i later found out that she was food poisoned and sh lost 10lbs just in a few day!

i gave her a cake hoping to make her feel a little better.

unfortunately, the cake did not taste sweet enough for her because of the meds she was talking.

we simply laughed at it. (^_^)

we watched a few shows and had a chat.

when i was about to leave, she gave me a rice crispy.

i like eating this stuff. (^_^_

i am currently trying to arrange an outing with my "seigaku" friends. (^_^)

i hope it pushed through.

and now that summer has officially started for me,

i would like to play the song "summer" by phineas and ferb. (^_^)

blooming

this conversation happened before one of our exams this afternoon. (^_^)

me walking, making faces with a classmate of mine as i pass by her. when i was close enough, she suddenly asked...

kaila*: why are you blooming today? /she asked teasingly

me: of course not. /smiling

kaila: yes you do!

me: no~ /still smiling. walking away and about to enter the classroom

kaila: hmmm~ denying it ah... fine~ /grins teasingly then laughs

this definitely made my day!
