ate jen's surprise birthday celebration

we had a surprise birthday celebration for ate jen last june 7!

her birthday is june 15, unfortunately, she is at the province during her birthday,

so we decided to give her a surprise party a week before her birthday!

surprisingly, her guests last year, were the same people who attended this year with a few additions. (^_^)

here are the pictures.

in addition, since all of the attendees were music ministry members,

our entertainment that night were each other (^_^)

we sang our heart out to different songs that would randomly come to mind.

it was really a fun night and ate jen was really happy for the surprise celebration (^_^)

what was my agenda immediately after we arrived from naga?

i rushed to the sunken garden/ grandstand of the university of the philippines diliman for the shooting of a video to be presented on the orientation of the first year medicine students of uerm.

to tell you all the truth, i was surprised the my friend mikey and our former class president, who is now part of the council, messaged me about the video.

i was in naga when i received their message.

i turned it down initially because their shooting was supposed to be monday, the day before our arrival to manila, and that means i could not make it.

the next day, i received a message that said that the shooting was moved to tuesday.

i immediately said yes since by that time we were scheduled to be already in manila.

on the day of the shooting, i was late.

the train arrived behind schedule so i really had to rush to check what were the materials i needed and took a taxi to the venue.

from that point onwards, everything went smooth and on schedule. (^_^)

i really had fun doing the video.

busy preparations

there are so many things i am preparing for!

a surprise, a video, an event and a family summer vacation.

each has their own specific details that i hope i don't forget. (>_<)

i hope i can do this.

i got my birthday gift from celine last night. (^_^)

i know it's kind of late but i don't really mind a i love gifts.

add to that, she made the earrings herself. (^_^)

surprise

my singles for christ (sfc) family gave me a (pre)birthday surprise tonight!

we were in the middle of our household.

i didn't know that they were hiding at our foyer (it's rather dark cause there was no lights at the foyer). they suddenly sang "happy birthday" and entered the house.

i was so surprised!

they brought cake, bread and pancit.

we shared the meal together and they gave me messages that really touched me. (^_^)

i am very thankful for their effort, their gift and their grace. (^_^)

do you remember the roses i got last valentines day?

i finally know who gave them. (^_^)

they are not from one person but from my friends! (^_^)

due to the events that made me sad that day,

they wanted to make me smile by giving me flowers and pretending they were from a secret admirer.

as my thank you to them,

i made leche flan, topped with cream and kiwi.

unfortunately, this is the only picture i could provide.

minna, yesterday, i had a post about a preview of the supposedly dessert i was going to make tonight.

but due to unexpected changes,

i was not able to do the dessert anymore.

good evening everyone.

we had a surprise visitor today, it was tito allan!

it's been almost two years since we last saw him.

he was with us during our "new year" accident two years ago.

he had the worst injuries of us all.

he was on coma for a few days, had cranial bleeding and he was at the brink of death.

thankfully, he was able to recover physically and go to the province with his family.

but mentally, he did not have a sense of reality.

seeing him today, he was well and mentally capable was a great joy for us. (^_^)

despite some trolling sent my way in the morning,

there are definitely a lot of things i am thankful for today. (^_~)

first is the stuffed toy turtle and the earrings that my friend maricia gave me. (^_~)

i looooove it!

next would be the cake our friend mikey gave to us for dessert during lunch time.

it delicious!

my roots

my three hour walk from the school to my house.

route: araneta ave., e rodriguez ave., new york street (e. rod side), cross EDSA using the overpass, new york street (nepa q-mart side) and finally our street/house (4-5km).

stop overs: christ the king church and holy spirit school.

both are very special to me because of academic roots and family ties.

i ♥ it! (^_~)

one school that instilled in me my values and my beliefs was Holy Spirit School.

i believe i already mentioned this before but the roots of the school itself is closely related to our family.

at some point,

even though my grade school years were hard,

i still owe a lot to my teachers, the nuns and the school itself.

the Christ the King Church was the venue of our baccalaureate mass and graduation ceremony when i was in grade school.

behind the church is a hall where important occasions hosted by those people from our province.

despite the city atmosphere,

the inside of the church was very serene and calming.

how are you? (^_^)

i have been bust studying this week because we have 2 consecutive quizzes (today and tomorrow) and it will be our first long exam next week.

i just wanted to share this fan that my parents brought home from their trip to hong kong over the weekend. (^_^)

it was really large and it really looked like a nice display.

for some reason though,

other people in our house thinks it can be used in a daily basis.

i had to explain to them that the structure of the fan is very fragile and it would easily be destroyed if they would to use it everyday.

another thing i would like to share is my new sketch pad! (^_^)

i've been doing a lot of sketching lately so i thought it's about time i buy myself a sketch pad after 4-5 years. (~_~)

next entry will be on saturday.
