this entry is the technical side of the latest production of Dulaang Pinay, LIE-R.
i would just want to make it clear that this is all from my point of view.
there are other views shared by ms. glecy atienza, sir bobet mendoza, cheryll brillantes and other people.
these views may have similarity to mine and they may also be different from mine.
in terms of the singing, it was a good addition to the story because it was able to give more "emotion" and "meaning" to the scenes.
the dancing, there is a need for the "dancers" to move and exaggerate their movements.
though when i said this after the first run, some were able to improve their "dancing" and that was good,
though it still needs more.
the energy of everyone was not the same, actually is was lacking at some point.
when i say energy, i was referring to "power of presentation" of the performance.
it looked as though they were unsure of what they were doing or what they were going to say.
in terms of the dialogue, as usual, it was very long.
i do not fully blame this to the cast,
because i know that there are times wherein the dialogue gets longer,
because sir bobet added something that made it long and it was not edited immediately to properly address it.
next, voice, the others were not heard because they were not able to project their voice properly.
costume, there were costumes that were fitting for some of the characters while there were some that were lacking (special mention would me the main character).
music and lights, timing and practice is still to be worked on.
though it improved a little during the second production.
set design, though they were able to fix it for the second performance, it may still need more color.
acting, some were actually into their role and but there were still those who were oblivious of their roles.
the punchlines were actually good.
the delivery of some of these punchlines are actually very good and amusing.
it's just that it is not fully maintained in the whole performance.
and lastly the plot.
like what i said before, the ending was still very problematic.
i hope they are able to fix it for their final performances tomorrow.
that's all.
