personally, i was very busy at work today that i was not able to do some of my tasks, but it seems i am not the only one busy.
just an hour or two ago, a hostage taking situation which lasted for almost 11 hours finished rather violently. the country was busy watching the live coverage of the hostage situation, media was busy trying to get as much information as possible, the police were busy trying to handle the situation on site, Manila officials from the local government were busy negotiating, the international society is busy watching and of course, the Filipinos are busy, until now, criticizing and discussion about the mistakes of everyone involved (media, government, police, etc.)
the hostage situation was in a tourist bus mostly with passengers from Hong Kong. i have yet to know all the details about the hostage taking situations. there have been different versions coming out.
details i am sure of:
-the hostage taker was a police officer
-he was killed
-some of the passengers were released before nightfall
-so far five of the passengers were confirmed dead
i will be posting more news and personal opinions about it tomorrow or on wednesday.
other news about this day?
Koreans were killed in the southern part of the Philippines.
8 policemen died, ambushed rebel groups.
what a busy? tragic? day...
