voting!

today was the much awaited MAY 10, 2010 Philippine Elections!

i am a first time voter!

i was quite excited to vote.

this was a historical event for this was the first ever AUTOMATED Elections.

in the past, the voters had to write th e names of the candidates to vote.

now, all we had to do was shade the circle beside the name of the candidate we wanted to vote.

here in our household, there were four of us who voted.

my grandmother, papa, mama and me.

we ate lunch before we voted.

unfortunately, problems were encountered during the voting procedure.

there was a very long line outside the poll precinct because

(1) the procedures on where to vote were not clear.

(2) the PICOS machine had mechanical problems [paper jam, malfunction, etc.]

(3) impatient voters

due to such problems, it took me approximately 3hours and 30minutes to wait in line and vote.

within that time, it only took me 5 minutes to cast my vote. (-_-)

indelible ink was put on my finger, a sign that i was already finished voting.

what makes this all worth doing was that i was able to exercise my right to vote.

i was able to do something for my country.
